For Duck & Weave founder Robin Saidman, shirting became an early obsession. Shirts with detachable collars and studs were ‘de rigueur’ at school. Later as a fashion photographer in London, he developed a photographic style inspired by the 1960 movie Breathless featuring the same collarless shirts from Jermyn Street. As a photojournalist his work has taken him to indigenous communities in Africa and Asia where he has experimented with importing local artisan made shirts with natural dyes and organic cotton. The outcome of these trials is the Duck and Weave Organic Philosophy line that embraces both indigenous and industrial production with an eco-friendly bias.
